Just some things to think about.

Jesus is every bit as much as of a bonified historical figure as George Washington, Cleopatra, Winston Churchill, Muhammed, Gandhi, Buddha, etc. There is no legitimate historian whether Jewish, Roman, secular, Christian, or middle eastern who denies that a man named Jesus lived approximately 2,000 years ago and did all the things and made the bold declarations that the bible declares. They may not agree as to who He is, but His life, messages, and deeds on earth are not in dispute.

Some of the historical miracles that have been recorded are:

• Healing the sick, including incurable leprosy
• Healing the paralyzed, including those who were paralyzed from birth
• Giving sight to the blind
• Giving speech to the mute
• Giving hearing to the deaf
• Raising the dead, including 1 man who was dead and entombed for 3 days
• Feeding over 5,000 people (many who had their families with them) with the equivalent of 3 bags of groceries by supernaturally multiplying the amount

All of this and MUCH more were witnessed by 100’s if not 1,000’s of people. Many of which were professional Jewish scribes.

It’s also a historical fact that Jesus heaped-up many, many followers out of Judaism, and this made very powerful Jewish leaders jealous, fearful, and angry. So much so that they convinced the Roman Governor to legally try Him for religious crimes. It’s recorded that the Governor did not believe Jesus to be guilty and in need of any punishment, and so he offered to punish a despised criminal in Jesus’ place to appease the crowd. But the crowd was so irrationally enraged that they demanded for Jesus to receive the punishment. So the Governor relented, ceremonially washed his hands in a bowl of water signifying his rejection of guilt, and turned Jesus over to the crowd and his soldiers for punishment.

It’s also historical fact that Jesus was brutally whipped with a cat of nine tails, crucified on a cross, stabbed in His side with a spear which caused water and blood to pour out, and was buried in a tomb.

It’s also historical fact that after 3 days, He rose from the dead, came out of the tomb, and was witnessed by over 500 people walking, preaching, and eating.

It’s also a historical fact that Jesus was seen by 100’s of people ascending off the earth and into the sky, until He was out of sight.

It’s also a historical fact that all through Jesus’ preaching and teaching that He claimed to be the Son of God and the savior of all mankind.

NONE of these facts are disputed by any legitimate historian. So to me, that leaves only 3 possibilities for believing who Jesus really was or is. He’s either a supernaturally powerful liar, a supernaturally powerful lunatic, or He is Lord.
